What is TaeKwon-Do
Founded centuries ago in Korea, this ancient combat sport is among the world's most widely practiced martial arts. It teaches self-defense, strategy, self-respect, respect of others, and is empowering to both children and adults. It's also terrific exercise for any age.
Our Academy's established curriculum offers high-quality instruction taught by Certified Black Belt instructors. The sport utilizes both hands and feet, with a greater emphasis on kicking - thus distinguishing it from karate, judo or kung fu. Loosely translated, TaeKwon-Do means "the way of the foot and fist."
Philosophy of Rockwall Black Belt Academy
We are a life skills academy. Our goal is to help kids be the best they can be. We accomplish this by teaching The Six Tenants of TaeKwon-Do Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Indomitable Spirit and Victory. Our philosophy is that by following the first five tenants you will achieve victory in life.
We are a well rounded martial arts academy. Our base is TaeKwon-Do but we incorporate a variety of martial arts styles. Mr. Powell is trained in Hagannah, Brazilian ju-jitsu, and Pekiti Tirsia. This allows our students to become diversely trained martial artists.
